Building

Villa Volta’s building is the house of Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen. The house is built in Victorian Patrician style with the lady from the chapel placed on top of the roof (her arms waving as if they were floating on the wind). The front of the house is built completely symmetrical with a total of seven windows and two large doors. At the front are front steps which are accessible by stairs covered by the balcony. A wonderful garden is applied in front of the building with a central placed lawn with a sundial which has no indicator. All around are flowerpots with a goat foot on it. The name of the attraction is clearly to be read at the front of the building: ‘Villa Volta’

The building is configured in a special way. Visitors access the house at side building which is located near the back of the house. The two preshows are harboured in this side building while the mainshow is in the actual house. The large door at the front has no immediate purpose unfortunately: visitors access the attraction at the right side through the second preshow. The exit is located at the left side, together with the exclusive show for the disabled. Only Villa Volta features this special show for the disabled because it would not be safe to ride this attraction. In this special show, a movie is shown, featuring images from the ride, and from other places inside the attraction which are appropriate to be shown together with the story.
